Appliqué is often misunderstood as advanced and difficult work, however appliqué is very forgiving. Slight changes in appliqué shapes or shifting of the pieces make no difference, as long as the end result remains pleasing. So, relax and get started!! Remember that practice makes perfect and the more you do, the better your stitches will look.
Requirements
• Scraps of 100% cotton fabric
• Thread: 100% cotton sewing machine thread in dark colours
• Gluestick
• Sewing machine with either open toe foot or free motion foot
• General sewing notions
• Paper scissors
• Fine fabric scissors
• Marking pencil (fabric erasable pencil) & normal pencil
• Ruler
• Pinking (zig-zag) blade for rotary cutter
• Light box
• Teflon sheet
• Piece of paper to protect your ironing board.
